Prime Minister Andy Burnham has joined the King and Queen for a Sunday church service on Royal Deeside during a weekend visit to the North-east.
Mr Burnham and his wife, Marie-France van Heel, attended Crathie Kirk near Balmoral, a church regularly visited by the Royal Family while staying at the estate.
The Prime Minister had met the King and Queen at Balmoral on Saturday, when the monarchs also attended the annual Braemar Gathering.
Gillian Garner, who attended the church service with her family, said: “It was truly amazing to stand in the church with the King and the Queen, the Prime Minister and his wife. It was a moving, wonderful service.”
The service focused on the importance of kindness and supporting the most vulnerable, according to those who attended.
