Andy Burnham is set to lay out his his key priorities as he formally becomes the new UK Prime Minister today.

The new Labour leader enters No.10 to replace Sir Keir Starmer who bowed to pressure to announce his resignation on June 22.

Less than a month on, for Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham will now officially take over the reins as he looks to rebuild the Labour party and the country.

In an interview with The Times, the incoming Prime Minister vowed to "do things in a different way" following a "decade of it just not working".

Burnham will look to implement a 10-year plan for the UK, building what he described as a "new kind of economy".

This morning, both Starmer and Burnham will head to Buckingham Palace to meet King Charles. There Starmer will officially resign and Burnham will be invited to form a new government.
