Business Fours set to tee off Aberdeen Energy qualifier at Aboyne Golf Club this May

The event is the last of 5 qualifying events for Scotland’s national business golf tournament ahead of the National final at Scotland’s home of golf, St Andrews with the Torrance course at St Andrews Fairmont hosting the finals day on the 30th of May.

Teams from all over the country are bidding for the crown of Scotland's national business golf champions. The tournament for golf loving firms will have hosted qualifiers in Edinburgh, Dundee, Glasgow and the Borders before the final chance to qualify for the national final comes in the Granite City.The Golf day format aims to foster new relationships between firms in the industry has been embraced by participants to date and tournament organisers, Business Fours are looking forward to taking this tournament to Aberdeen on May 1.

The event is being supported by industry partners the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce and will be hosted at fellow members Aboyne Golf Club which has enjoyed a new lease of life under new golf pro Fraser Dunlop.

A former club pro at Gleneagles Fraser has ambitious plans for their member led club already hosting junior golf training and building partnerships with local schools he is in no uncertainty where the future of golf lies.

They are also looking to build upon their corporate offering Business Fours offers the opportunity to show off their facilities to the local business community. Fraser said “I’m thrilled to putting my years of experience at one of Scotland’s top golf resorts to use at Aboyne and I’m excited about the opportunities here in Aberdeen to boost golf in the area. We’re delighted to be hosting the Business Fours qualifier here at Aboyne and look forward to welcoming the golfers on the day and letting them see for themselves what a fantastic course we have here.”

The tournament will also have a stellar guest appearance in the form of the Scottish Open trophy, The Scottish Open have also donated some generous prizes to support the charity raffle with a fourball at Gullane up for grabs on the Monday after this year’s Scottish Open with the grandstands and Sunday pin positions still in place. It is also being supported by the flamboyant golf clothing firm Royal and Awesome who will be providing the winners from each event with a pair of tartan troos as their badges of honour at the finals day.
