Business Gateway has launched a free event to help Scottish Borders businesses prepare for the impact of Brexit.
Business Gateway’s Brexit Seminar will take place on Tuesday, September 10, 2pm-5pm at Heart of Hawick.
This free event for Borders businesses will set out the main areas that firms need to be planning for ahead of the anticipated EU exit date on October 31. Issues covered will include economic origin, VAT and regulations that businesses need to consider in a post-Brexit world.
For firms currently trading with EU countries, the Brexit Seminar will also take into account emerging threats and opportunities, customs and inventory issues and HMRC Simplification Options.
The seminar will be led by Murdo Beaton, an acknowledged expert in international trade issues and a member of the Upper Quartile Export Technical Support team working with Scottish Development International to help address Brexit concerns and uncertainty.
The event will also include a Q&A session to address any specific concerns that businesses may have.
