Charlie House is calling on the North-east business community to get behind its annual Golf Day by signing up a team or supporting the event as a sponsor.

Taking place on Friday 21 August at Peterculter Golf Club, the popular event brings together businesses from across the region for a day of networking, friendly competition and fundraising in support of local children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families.

Teams will enjoy a scenic 18-hole round with a shotgun start, breakfast rolls on arrival, lunch, exclusive on-course challenges and the chance to win a range of fantastic prizes. Teams of four are priced at £750.

A range of sponsorship opportunities are also available, offering businesses the chance to raise their profile, engage with fellow members of the business community and demonstrate their commitment to supporting local children and families.

Funds raised from the event will help local families access practical and emotional support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families in the community.

Emma Leiper Finlayson, Director of Fundraising at Charlie House, said:

“Our Golf Day is always a highlight of the fundraising calendar and a fantastic opportunity for businesses to connect with clients and colleagues while making a meaningful difference to local families. As a charity that receives no statutory funding, we rely on the generosity of our supporters and partners to help fund vital services for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. It costs £596 a day to deliver the expert support and care that Charlie House families rely on, and by taking part in our Golf Day, local businesses will be helping to fund a day of vital support for local children and families. Whether by entering a team or sponsoring the event, every business involved is helping ensure local families continue to receive the frontline support they vitally need.”

Charlie House was established in 2011 to address the lack of specialist support available locally. Its services include a range of regular fully accessible and inclusive activities, activity short breaks, one to one and family therapeutic support, pre- and post-bereavement support and information and advocacy support.

The services improve the families’ mental health, wellbeing and resilience, helping them maintain positive relationships and enhancing their quality of life while enabling the whole family to enjoy the time they have together, however long or short that may be.
