Cairngorm Bothies' initiative, Cairngorm Excursions, has partnered with experienced mountain guides Hillgoers to launch guided walking tours in the Cairngorms National Park, aiming to enhance guest experiences and introduce newcomers to hill walking.
The collaboration combines Cairngorm Excursions' commitment to showcasing the region's natural beauty with Hillgoers' expertise in safe and informative mountain guiding.
Initially focusing on walking, Cairngorm Excursions envisions expanding to other "human-powered endeavours" like biking, skiing, and kayaking, aligning with their green ethos.
The initial offering includes three distinct guided walks led by mountain guide James Ferrier: the challenging ascent of Morven, a leisurely circuit around Loch Muick on the Balmoral Estate, and an exploration of Loch Kinord & Muir of Dinnet, including the Burn o' Vat.
Dr Gordon Drummond from Cairngorm Excursions highlights the partnership with Hillgoers, emphasising their shared vision of providing exceptional and responsible outdoor experiences. Hillgoers' guides offer expertise in navigation, safety, and the Cairngorms' natural and cultural history, aiming to provide participants with a deeper appreciation of the landscape.
The guided walks cater to various interests and abilities, from beginners to nature enthusiasts. Cairngorm Excursions believes this partnership introduces accessible guided walking experiences in the Cairngorms, encouraging both returning and new guests to explore the region.
