Cairngorm Lodges and Cairngorm Bothies, based in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, is marking World Sustainability Day by highlighting its commitment to regenerative tourism.
Operating fully off-grid through solar and biomass energy, the company’s bothies contribute directly to native woodland regeneration, careful water management and wildlife conservation. The surrounding habitats support species including red squirrels, pine martens and the rare capercaillie.
Cairngorm Lodges and Bothies in Royal Deeside support sustainable tourism across the Cairngorms National Park.
The business also works closely with local suppliers and artisans to create authentic, low-impact guest experiences that celebrate Royal Deeside’s natural and cultural heritage.
Dr Gordon Drummond, owner of Cairngorm Lodges and Cairngorm Bothies, said: “True sustainability is about balance — between people, place and purpose. Guests leave not only refreshed, but knowing their stay has helped preserve Scotland’s wild spaces.”
