With Run Garioch set to take place on May 10, Cala Homes (North) is challenging fellow local businesses who are members of the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce to compete in the Cala 10K AGCC Cup.

The Cala team comprising Ebony Rettie, Sales Advisor at Green Bank at Grandhome, Lesley-Ann Henry, Finance Manager, Stuart Moggach, Head of Customer Service and Darren Ross, Engineering Manager, are set to lace up their running shoes and go head-to-head with CNR International, PD & MS Group, and Ashtead Technology.

Introduced as part of Run Garioch last year, the Cala 10k AGCC Cup is awarded to the fastest team of four from any Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce member organisation taking part in the Cala 10k. Altrad Sparrows were the champions last year.

The winning team will have their name engraved on the Chamber Cup and have a charitable donation of £100 made on their behalf. Teams can be mixed or single-sex and the times of all four runners will count in the calculation of the winner.

Stuart Moggach, Head of Customer Service and part of Cala’s 10K AGCC Cup team, said: “We’re delighted to get behind Run Garioch with sponsorship of the 10k race and event village. It is a wonderful local event and our Cala 10K AGCC Cup team are looking forward to some friendly competition with our fellow chamber members. It’s a great incentive to push us through the race and cheer each other on.

“We’d love to see more teams join and there’s still time to do so.”

To help power runners through the route, Cala will have a water station to help keep everyone hydrated.

Run Garioch Event Manager Christine Appel said: “To enter the Cala 10K AGCC Cup, runners should state both their team and company names in the spaces provided in the online registration form. Runners who have already entered still have time to join a team by amending their details using the link they received at registration.

“The Cala 10k AGCC Cup is a fantastic opportunity for colleagues to support each other through the race and give them an extra incentive to make it over the finish line.”

Alongside the 10k, Cala is also sponsor of the event village which will comprise a variety of vendors including Pizza Box Scotland, Aberdeen Angus Grill, LR Luxurious Scents and Evolv3d Printing.

Mackie’s is enlisting the help of Daviot Oldmeldrum Scouts to sell ice cream, with the profit going to the group.

The event also includes the Mackie’s 5k, the McWilliam Lippe Half-Marathon and the CP&Co. Junior Run.

Cala Homes has a collection of four- and five-bedroom homes available at its Conglass Brae development, located off Balhalgardy Rise in Inverurie, with prices starting from £349,950*.
