The British Embassy in Amman, Jordan, has submitted a bid for a series of events aimed at boosting trade relations with Scottish businesses.

The main component of the events, funded by Brand Scotland, is a Trade Mission which the embassy is hoping to host in the week commencing January 18 2026.

The UK’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) at the British Embassy in Amman will host a delegation from Scotland specialised in energy and water efficiency.

Jordan is one of the water poorest countries in the world, with incredible potential in renewable energy production.

Now, North-east firms interested in potentially doing business in Jordan are being invited to apply to join the delegation.

The UK Government will cover the cost of economy airfare, hotel accommodation for three nights – two working days, in-country transportation and some meals.

To qualify for the trip, the British Embassy, interested parties are asked to supply the following information:

  • Name of company
  • Website
  • Main products [with price range if possible]
  • Main services [with price range if possible]
  • Name of nominated candidate
  • Contact details of nominated candidate
  • Why are you interested in this opportunity?
  • Do you have any work experience or business engagements in Jordan?
  • Do you have any work experience or business engagements in the Middle East?
  • Do you have any local Jordan-based contacts? They could be invited to the main event taking place in Amman
  • Any special requests or requirements including dietary requirements

Expressions of interest should be sent to Ziad Marto - a trade and investment adviser for the Department for Business and Trade, sitting at the British Embassy in Amman - at ziad.marto@fcdo.gov.uk
