Fiona McKenzie, Business Development Manager at Cameron Intellectual Property, based in its Aberdeen office, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have our recent work in this area recognised. We have seen in practice that offering greater flexibility helps our staff to have a better work-life balance and to come to work more focused and productive”.

Nikki Slowey, Co-founder and Director of Flexibility Works, which organises the awards, said: “Our judges were really impressed with how Cameron Intellectual Property is nurturing a new way of working in Scotland.

As final CV19 restrictions end, the next six months will be a crucial transition for many employers from ‘Cv19 flex’ that was forced upon us to a more intentional and sustainable true flexibility. Employers like Cameron Intellectual Property are brilliant for showcasing practical steps organisations can take, and the positive impact this makes.”

New research by Flexibility Works shows 84% of Scottish workers already work flexibly, or would like to, up from 73% before the pandemic. While almost two thirds (64%) of employers say flexible working has had a positive impact on the business.

For the awards, judges looked for clear examples of how organsiations support their people to create greater work life harmony. They considered the company culture, leadership and practical support provided as well as official policies. They also wanted to see flexible working as part of an organisation’s strategy and how this impacts positively on the business. Testimonials from employees were included.

The awards were sponsored by The Glenmorangie Company, Quorum Network Resources, CIPD, Arnold Clark, Centrica, Dentons, Scottish Water, Shoosmiths, Pursuit Marketing and the Scottish Government.

Flexibility Works is a social business funded and supported by the Scottish Government to support organisations become more flexible workplaces.
