On Monday of last week, Luxe Scot Events hosted the second Captain’s Cup at Trump Turnberry, welcoming more than 60 celebrities and amateurs to take on the incredible Ailsa Course in glorious sunshine.
With the Ayrshire coastline as the backdrop, the event delivered everything you’d want from a summer shootout - competitive pairings, big names and memorable moments from the first tee to the final putt.
Among those taking part were John Terry, Sir Kenny Dalglish, Matt Le Tissier, Gianfranco Zola, Scott Brown, Joe Hart, Alan Hansen, Kriss Akabusi, Gary McAllister, Jamie Murray, Judy Murray, Leon Rolle and Alan McInally - alongside a host of amateur golfers, all sharing in Turnberry’s famous hospitality.
Compered by Ellie Collins, the Captain’s Cup weekend began on Sunday evening with welcome drinks - an easy going start that brought the celebrity guests together ahead of the main event.
Monday’s golf more than lived up to the setting: perfect conditions, plenty of quality play, and even a hole-in-one to cap off a day that felt tailor made for Turnberry. When the scores were tallied, England clinched the Cup by just two points - proof, if ever it was needed, that this format is built for drama.
The celebrations continued with a gala dinner after play, rounding off the day in style and giving guests the chance to relive the best shots (and near misses) from the course.
Adding to the evening’s entertainment, Alex Horne treated the room to a special Taskmaster inspired set - bringing plenty of laughs to a weekend already packed with standout moments.
And the good news is it’s not over: the Captain’s Cup is set to return to Turnberry in May 2027. If you’re hoping to be part of next year’s line up, you’ll need to be quick - places are limited and demand is expected to be high.
