The principal cast of this year’s His Majesty’s Theatre pantomime, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, paid a special visit to the city to offer a sneak peek of what's in store for audiences when the panto opens at the historic theatre on Saturday, November 28.
Gary: Tank Commander (Gary Barnum), Alan McHugh (Dame Betty Barnum), Jamie Marie Leary(Goldilocks) and Anne Smith (Baroness Von Winklebottom) gathered at His Majesty's Theatre to officially launch the countdown.
Alan McHugh said of his upcoming 22nd turn as HMT's panto dame: “Our lovely audiences can expect a rollercoaster ride of a panto this year, with thrills and spills, fun, laughter, danger, love and lots of singing, dancing, magical effects and above all, a great night out for all the family.”
Aberdeen Performing Arts CEO/Creative Director, Sharon Burgess, said: "It has been a marvellous day seeing our fabulous panto cast getting ready to entertain us all this festive season.
"What a treat getting just a little peek of what's in store for our audiences. Goldilocks and the Three Bears will be a spectacular way to round off a truly memorable year celebrating 120 years of His Majesty's Theatre."

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is produced by the world’s biggest pantomime producer Crossroads Pantomimes, inviting audiences to enter a world of wonder at His Majesty’s Theatre this festive season. To rescue Barnum’s Circus from the clutches of Baroness Von Winklebottom, Goldilocks is helped by a sparkling cast of favourites. Gary: Tank Commander marches back to headline as Gary Barnum; much-loved panto dame Alan McHugh delights as Dame Betty Barnum; and Scottish stage and screen star Paul J Corrigan returns as Daddy Bear.
With Jamie Marie Leary as Goldilocks and Anne Smith as the evil Baroness, you’re sure to agree this is The Greatest Panto on Earth!
For five weeks only, His Majesty’s Theatre will transform into a sensational circus packed with riotous comedy, extraordinary special effects, hair-raising stunts, and amazing circus acts where anything could – and will – happen.
