Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) is delighted to announce its charity partners for the 22nd annual Northern Star Business Awards 2026, the region’s largest business celebration.

Homelessness charity Aberdeen Cyrenians and local cancer charity Clan Cancer Support have been selected to receive donations from this year’s awards ceremony.

Delivered in partnership with Brodies LLP, this year’s celebration will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at P&J Live and will celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of organisations across the region.

Over 70 organisations have been shortlisted across 15 categories at this year’s ceremony.

Both charities carry out life-changing work across the North-east, and funds raised on the night will support their vital services.

Aberdeen Cyrenians provides practical, trauma‑informed support for people who are struggling, in crisis, or at risk of homelessness. The team focuses on helping people earlier, improving wellbeing, and addressing the everyday pressures that make life harder - such as money worries, mental health challenges, digital exclusion and wider social issues - so people feel safer, better supported and more able to move forward.

Donna Hutchison, Chief Executive at Aberdeen Cyrenians, said: “We’re thrilled to be selected as a charity partner for this year’s Northern Star Business Awards. Support from the event will help us reach people earlier and provide the steady, practical support they need to get through difficult times.

“Many of the challenges people face are shaped by wider pressures, and partnerships like this help shine a light on those realities. They show what’s possible when organisations work together to create stability and offer people a clear route forward.”

Cancer support charity Clan Cancer Support has also been selected as a charity partner for this year’s ceremony.

Clan is the longest-standing commercially independent cancer support charity in the north of Scotland, with all services sustained entirely by fundraising.

Clan Cancer Support provides emotional and physical support to people impacted by cancer across North-east Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.

Fiona Fernie, Chief Executive at Clan, said: “We’re honoured to be at this year’s Northern Star event as a charity partner. Support from local businesses is vital in helping Clan reach its £2.7million annual fundraising target, sustaining our cancer support services in Aberdeen and beyond.

“We’d like to thank the Chamber for this opportunity - every donation to Clan helps us ensure that no one in our community faces a cancer diagnosis alone.”

Russell Borthwick, Chief Executive at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are proud to support two charities whose work makes a profound difference to people across the North-east. Aberdeen Cyrenians and Clan Cancer Support provide essential services and compassionate support to individuals and families facing incredibly challenging circumstances.

“The Northern Star Business Awards is a celebration of the strength of our business community, and it is important that we also take the opportunity to give back. Through the generosity of our guests, we hope to raise meaningful support for these organisations and help them continue the vital work they do every day."

The 2026 awards are supported by bp, Royal Bank of Scotland, Cala, Bilfinger, Aberdeen International Airport, Marks & Clerk, Score, Balmoral, True North Advisors, Adura, University of Aberdeen, Swagelok, Business Gateway Aberdeen City & Shire and Robert Gordon University, LNER and Aberdeen Football Club.
