A team of eight employees from Aberdeen-based Ferrier Pumps will be swapping pumps and pipework for walking boots this weekend as they take on one of Scotland's toughest charity fundraising challenges.

On June 6-7 2026, colleagues from Ferrier Pumps will tackle the demanding Glenshee 9; Càrn Gorm, Meall Garbh, Càrn Mairg and Creag Mhòr and Mayar and Driesh as part of the wider 40 Peaks Challenge organised across the EPS Group of companies.

Representing Ferrier Pumps will be Sam Corrigan; Fin Barr; Todd Grace; Ethan Cunningham; Connor Langler; Hannah Crichton; Chelsea Aitken and David Richardson.

The challenge will see teams simultaneously climb 40 peaks across Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, raising funds for a number of charitable causes while promoting teamwork, wellbeing and community engagement.

For the Scottish team, the chosen charities are National Autistic Society and SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health), Scotland's national mental health charity. Mental health continues to be an important topic across all industries, and the team hopes their efforts will help raise both awareness and much-needed funds to support the vital services and programmes delivered by SAMH throughout Scotland.

The challenge has already generated strong support from Ferrier Pumps' wider network of customers, suppliers and industry partners.

Leading that support is Landia, has signed up as Country Sponsor for Scotland, alongside Peak Sponsors:

  • Doran Consulting
  • CCS Group
  • Control Soft Automation
  • Formatank Ltd
  • Quality Freight Services

The backing received from these businesses highlights the strength of the relationships that exist across the engineering, water and infrastructure sectors, with organisations coming together to support a common cause.

While the challenge will undoubtedly test the team physically, those involved say the event is about much more than reaching summits. “It represents an opportunity to support an important charity, strengthen relationships with colleagues and partners and demonstrate the positive impact businesses can have when they work together for the benefit of their communities”, says event lead Gareth Wilson.

The Scottish team forms part of a larger EPS Group initiative involving colleagues from across the UK and Ireland, but for the Ferrier Pumps participants, the focus is firmly on representing the North-East, supporting SAMH and completing the demanding Glenshee route.
