In his new role, Paul will be responsible for driving business performance, client relationships, and operational delivery across the Tayside region.

Malcolm Thomson, who joined CHAP in 2021 as a Senior Contracts Manager and was promoted to Operations Manager in 2024, has been appointed Construction Director in Aberdeen.

Malcolm’s recent experience includes renovation works at the Marcliffe Hotel, delivering the new Skylark brasserie in the former courtyard, upgraded kitchens, and refurbished bedrooms.

He is currently leading the Queen Street project on behalf of Aberdeen City Council and hub North Scotland, alongside two key worker legacy housing projects for Hillcrest and SSEN. He will take a leading management role, responsible for the delivery of construction projects in the Aberdeen region.

Hugh Craigie, Managing Director, CHAP Group, said: “In 2021 we set out our strategy to build a stronger, more resilient and regionally diverse CHAP. 5 years later we’re pleased to report sustained growth in both turnover and geographic reach. That success stems from the calibre and commitment of our people. Paul and Malcolm exemplify the leadership and delivery excellence that define our business, and their promotions reflect both their achievements and our confidence in the next phase of CHAP’s growth.”

These appointments align with CHAP’s clear directive: to grow responsibly, increase the company's scale, and deliver record turnover by backing its people and maintaining focus on quality and safety.
