Calling all countryside enthusiasts. An annual charity walk, is being held for the second year running, on the Elsick Estate, in aid of North East Sensory Services (NESS), a charity which supports the needs of people with sight or hearing loss.
Brio Retirement Living, who are currently building the new village of Landale Court in Chapelton, will be hosting a community walk around breath-taking surroundings of the estate with the aim of raising £3,000 for the charity through donations from walkers. The event takes place on the same day as the Chapelton bike ride, which involves two races of either 12 or 42 miles of cycling.
Free registration for the annual Chapelton Community Charity Walk is now open, and starts at 12.15pm, on Sunday 2 September. Walkers can sign-up for a place ahead of the event here.
Karl Hallows, director of development and sales at Brio Retirement Living said:
“Registration is now open for our annual Chapelton Community Charity Walk and we’re looking forward to welcoming people from across the local area back to Chapelton for this popular event. This is a great opportunity for people from the wider community to take in the beautiful coastal surroundings whilst enjoying the fresh air with family and friends and seeing all that the picturesque town of Chapelton has to offer.
“Encouraging and promoting a strong community spirit is a fundamental part of our vision for Landale Court, so supporting and hosting events such as the Chapelton Community Charity Walk and the Chapelton bike ride are really important to all of the Brio team in Chapelton. We’re pleased that we’ve had so much interest in this year’s event and want to thank our construction team including the sub-contractors and suppliers for their support. We’re looking forward to seeing how much we can raise for such a worthy cause.”
Walkers are asked to sign-in at The Hut in Liddell Park, from 11.30am and are invited to donate to NESS at the same time. Brio will hold a prize draw, for all those who register and arrive on the day, participants could win a Legrand Nuvo stereo speaker.
The walking route will kick off at The Hut in Liddell Park, where walkers will be able to take in open fields, woodlands and waterways on the estate.
A water station is on-site to refuel walkers and participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for walking. After the walk there’s an evening of live music and a range of street food stalls on offer.
