A charity golf day held at Banchory Golf Club has raised £6,123.81 to support the work of North East Sensory Services (NESS).

The event was held on the 28th of August, in collaboration with West End FC, and sponsored by logistics firm, FH Bertling Ltd, to raise funds for the charity.

Hosted by Hector and Christine at Golfers Scotland Ltd, the day brought together 16 teams for a fantastic day of golf, fundraising and entertainment.

Businesses taking part included Stronachs, RTH Lubbers, Alba Equities, Well-Safe Solutions and Unique, alongside a host of other teams and supporters.

Fundraising continued off the course with an impressive selection of auction and raffle prizes, including four ball experiences at Trump International, Murcar Links and Archerfield that attracted some brilliant bids from very generous guests.

Attendees were also treated to an impromptu Q&A session with football legends Jim Leighton and Charlie Nicholas.

Emma Welsh, community partnerships coordinator at NESS, said: “It was such a brilliant day and fantastic to see so many local businesses getting behind NESS.

“There was a great atmosphere from start to finish and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who played, donated prizes, bid in the auction, or supported the day in any way.

“Events like this not only raise vital funds but also help shine a light on the work we do supporting people with sensory loss across the northeast of Scotland.”

NESS supports people who are blind, deaf or have dual sensory loss across the North-east of Scotland, helping people overcome barriers and live as independently as possible.

Attendees have already expressed interest in taking part in 2027, and it looks like the charity will likely carry this forward to an annual occurrence.
