It is starting to look a lot like Christmas…definitely! But as we start to feel the rush of the festive season approaching, 24 hours a day do not seem to be enough. However, this should be the time for us to stop and enjoy those little moments that brighten up the winter days.

Some community events can help you to wind down and feel the real Christmas Spirit. And among them, Fountainhall Church offers a heartwarming programme of events this Christmas in its three venues in the West End of Aberdeen. Check out some of the fun activities organised by Fountainhall Church this Christmas.

Business Community Carols Service, Wednesday 13 December, 12.30 pm, Sanctuary at the Cross (Albyn Place). This is a carol service especially thought for the business community (although open to anyone!) with live music by the Grammar School Band who will be playing some popular carols for us. This short service will be followed by tea, coffee and mince pies. The perfect time to get into the Christmas Spirit and to meet fellow members of the business community in a warm festive environment!

Carols round the Tree at the Cross, Friday 15 December, 6 pm, forecourt in Fountainhall at the Cross (Queen's Cross roundabout). This is a very popular carol singing event between the families and groups of friends, gathering every year around 100 people around the Christmas tree in the forecourt of the church at the Cross/Albyn Place. Singing your heart out is a fun way to start the weekend with some festive cheer… and blow off some steam!. To keep everybody warm and in tune, the coffee house onsite, Cognito at the Cross, will provide hot chocolate for everyone. So gather family and friends, wrap up cosy and warm up your voice, the show is about to start!

Community Christmas Carol Singing at the Stocket, Sunday 17 December from 5pm, in the Church Gardens at Fountainhall at the Stocket (Harcourt Road). If you love singing carols, this is another date for your diary! Gathering in the gardens of Fountainhall Church at the Stocket, in Harcourt Road, we will get into the Christmas Spirit with the help of The Granite City Brass Band who will join us on this occasion. Mince pies and festive refreshments will be served.

Beer and Carols at the Dutch Mill Hotel, Tuesday 19 December, 6 pm, The Dutch Mill Hotel (Queen's Road). Join us for some fun and song at 'the Dutcher'. On the evening of Tuesday 19 December, we will meet at The Dutch Mill Hotel to sing some Christmas songs and to share some Christmas festivities over a beer or a glass of wine as we raise some funds for the charity Instant Neighbour. Come and join us, it is sure to be great fun!
