Employees from Churchill Drilling Tools, the global oilfield service company specialising in drilling innovation, are set to take part in the first Great Aberdeen Run next weekend raising money for a local charity.
The team of eight colleagues will raise money for Sistema Scotland’s Big Noise programme in Torry.
‘Big Noise Torry’, which was launched in June 2015, works with children (from babies up to 9 years old), delivering an inclusive, immersive and free music programme which builds confidence, aspiration and resilience.
Churchill Drilling Tools’ CEO, Mike Churchill, said: “Supporting Big Noise Torry really struck a chord with us. Torry remains home to our global headquarters, despite our successful expansion into new markets, and we have always considered it important to give something back to the community and support local good causes. We’re all looking forward to taking on the 10k and raising funds for a terrific charity.”
David Sinclair, fundraising & business development officer at Sistema Scotland, said: “We are delighted Churchill has chosen to support Big Noise Torry. We use music to transform lives and recently-published independent evaluation demonstrates that Big Noise Torry is already enhancing participants' ability to learn in school, as well as improving emotional wellbeing.”
This year marks the first time the running event has been held Aberdeen, with the route taking in some of the city’s most iconic sights and beginning and finishing in Union Street.
