Decommissioning firm NMC Energy and burger chain Wendy's are among the latest businesses to invest in premises on Aberdeen's Union Street.

NMC Energy has invested £250,000 in a new HQ in Diligent House on Union Street, relocating from its previous office on Bon Accord Crescent.

Chief executive Konstantin Nazaruk told The Press and Journal: “Our move to Union Street is an important milestone for NMC Energy and reflects our confidence in Aberdeen and its future."

And US burger chain Wendy's will also put some meat on the bones of Union Street after plans for a restaurant on the Granite Mile were given the green light.

A £450,000 investment is being made to refurbish the property at 107-109 Union Street, previously occupied by JD Sports.

Luxury make-up brand Charlotte Tilbury is also set to launch a presence in the city centre with a dedicated kiosk within Boots in the Bon Accord Centre.

Meanwhile, in Aberdeenshire, clothing retailer Next has submitted plans to the local authority to take over the Argos store within Inverurie Retail Park.
