Clan Cancer Support is bringing back its popular large-scale quiz event this month, with capacity for more than 100 quiz enthusiasts to come together and test their general knowledge in a World Cup Special edition in Aberdeen.
Following the success of its first event earlier this year, The Clash of the Clans Quiz Night returns to the Sandman Signature Hotel on Thursday, May 28 from 6pm.
Hosted once again by local social media influencer and renowned quizmaster Aiberdeen Mannie, there will be rounds dedicated to the goals, songs and countries participating and traditions that make the World Cup so iconic.
Aiberdeen Mannie will be joined by event host and Clan Board member Claire Stevenson who will join as MC for the evening.
In addition to the pub quiz format, the event will also offer fundraising games, stalls and a raffle sponsored by Frasers of Ellon.
All proceeds from the event will help the charity support more people of all ages who are impacted by a cancer diagnosis.
The local personality, known as Duncan Dallas, is an ambassador of Clan and has already helped raise vital funds to support the charity’s emotional and physical support services.
Duncan Dallas said; “I used Clan’s services after my wife’s cancer diagnosis, so I know first-hand how important this charity is to people in Aberdeen and beyond. Luckily my wife has now fully recovered, and I like to show my thanks by doing whatever I can to support the charity.
“The next quiz in the Clash of the Clans series is shaping up to be a great event – there’s something for everyone to enjoy whether you’re a football fan or not! It’s the perfect opportunity to get your clan together for a brilliant night out whilst supporting a very important local charity.”
Emma Panton, Clan’s head of income generation added: “We were delighted with the response to our first large-scale quiz night and it's fantastic to see the event return again with a World Cup theme – especially with Scotland gearing up for their first campaign in 28 years.”
“Ahead of the tournament starting in June, we're looking forward to starting the party early, celebrating the occasion and sparking a bit of friendly competition.”
Clan is also offering sponsorship opportunities, starting from £250 for round sponsors, providing local organisations with a chance to support the event.
The Clash of the Clans Quiz Night will take place on Thursday, May 28 from 6pm at the Sandman Hotel in Aberdeen. Tickets cost £10 per person including a light bite. Teams of up to six are recommended.
