With Paraggi, Claudio Bellini and BoConcept Scotland explore the idea of furniture not as a simple static object, but as a living, evolving space.

Designed as part of a wider collection for BoConcept, the Paraggi sofa reflects a continued collaboration rooted in shared values – combining Italian sensibility with Danish design clarity. Featuring adjustable arm and backrests, the sofa can be adapted to an individual’s comfort preferences, too.

“Furniture is not just an object – it’s a place where you live,” says Bellini.

A place to live, not just to sit

Paraggi is conceived as an environment within the home – a space that supports the rhythms of everyday life. From quiet moments of retreat to more open, social settings, the sofa is designed to respond intuitively.

“The sofa should adapt to your needs during the day,” Bellini explains.

Inspired by the sheltered bay of Paraggi, a high, enveloping back creates a sense of comfort and protection, offering what the designer describes as “something embracing, something that protects you.”

Flexibility through simplicity

At the heart of Paraggi is a considered approach to flexibility. Adjustable arm and backrests allow the user to open or close the sofa’s form with ease – transforming both its function and atmosphere.

“With a simple gesture, you can change the sofa completely,” says Bellini.

Crucially, this adaptability is achieved without visible complexity. “We don’t want heavy mechanisms – we want simplicity.”

The design balances a grounded, architectural base with generous seating volumes, while the back and armrests rise and unfold with a sense of softness and movement. This interplay reflects a key principle across the collection: achieving equilibrium between solidity and lightness; creating pieces that feel both substantial and refined.

Designing a living landscape

Paraggi completes the BoConcept sofa assortment with its first fully functional high-back design, bringing together adjustable comfort, modular flexibility and a softer, more contemporary expression. Designed for modern living, it responds to growing demand for adaptable sofas that support both relaxation and social living without compromising on aesthetics.

“It’s about creating a landscape, not just a single element,” says Bellini.

Available as an armchair, 2.5 and 3-seater sofas, chaise lounges, corner modules and pouffes, Paraggi is designed to adapt intuitively to different spaces and lifestyles. Upholstered exclusively in fabric, the collection emphasises softness, tactility and warmth.

As part of Bellini’s wider living concept, the collection is complemented by Volterra coffee and side tables, designed to work harmoniously alongside the sofa and armchair. Together, the pieces create a cohesive living environment that balances architectural clarity with emotional comfort.
