The Asthma and Allergy Foundation marked a successful charity Golf Day at Banchory Golf Club on Thursday, July 3rd, bringing together golf enthusiasts, supporters, and special guests to raise vital funds and awareness for asthma and allergy sufferers across Scotland.
An event proudly sponsored by CNR International in its commitment to support charities in the northeast doing valuable work in the community.
Despite our lovely Aberdeen weather, spirits were high as participants teed off early in the morning, enjoying the scenic course and generous hospitality from Golfers Scotland. Raffle prizes included everything from fine local honey to Rangers FC merchandise, while the silent auction featured exclusive experiences such as luxury hotel stays and golf getaways.
Guests heard a heartfelt speech from the charity’s CEO, Martina Chukwuma-Ezike, who shared emotional stories from asthma sufferers, the work carried out by the foundation and some attendees were moved to also share stories of relatives affected by asthma and allergies, underscoring the importance of continued education and support for those living with asthma and severe allergies.
According to Martina, “it was great getting “MEN” to speak up about their own journey of living with a challenging condition like asthma and or severe allergies. Men don’t often talk about how they feel. Some were also able to share for the first time how they lost their siblings to asthma, and what hurt that has caused/pain they have buried all these years/months in the case of one.”
Scottish football legend Richard Gough captivated the room with a Q&A session, reflecting on his remarkable career, personal journey, and why supporting health charities like the Asthma and Allergy Foundation matters more than ever.
The event was made possible through the generous sponsorship of CNR International and the Scottish Charity’s own Ambassador Barry Duncan, VP Finance at CNR International.
"Our deepest gratitude goes to everyone who made this day possible and to Hector Elmslie and his team at Golfers Scotland. The funds raised will directly support life-changing education, advice and practical support, and reliable health information to thousands of families managing asthma across Scotland”, - Martina, CEO of Asthma and Allergy Foundation.
The Foundation remains committed to improving lives, preventing hospitalisations and needless deaths, ensuring that no one suffers needlessly due to asthma or allergies.
