Co-op stores across the north and east of Scotland are holding a month of fundraising to support local sick children.
Staff at 162 stores, located from Shetland to Perth, will be carrying out fundraising activities during the month of May to support The ARCHIE Foundation.
The ARCHIE Foundation is the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, the Highland Children’s Unit at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, and Tayside Children’s Hospital at Ninewells in Dundee.
The funds raised by Co-op colleagues will be used to provide specialist staff, advanced medical equipment and emergency funding grants to support patients and their families during a stay in hospital.
Alan Johnston, regional manager for the Co-op, said: “As a community retailer, our ambition is for Co-op stores to be at the heart of local life, and make a difference in our communities.
“We are delighted to once again be partnering with The ARCHIE Foundation and would like to thank Co-op members, customers and colleagues for their enthusiasm and support, which will enable the charity to carry out more of its work with poorly children, and their families, who are spending time in our local hospitals.”
Cassie Thompson, director of fundraising at The ARCHIE Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen by the Co-Op stores as their charity partner for the month of May.
“The money raised by staff and customers will play an important part in helping us make the difference for local sick children, and we wish them all the best with their fundraising efforts.”
