October sees the return of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Fish Supper - an annual fundraising event that encourages families and friends across the UK and Republic of Ireland to come together to enjoy a fish-themed meal, whilst raising money for the charity that saves lives at sea.
Every year, volunteer crew members miss around 7,000 evening meals with loved ones, in order to perform rescue missions in cold, unpredictable and often dangerous conditions at sea and inland waters such as Loch Ness.
Volunteers sacrifice their time and home comforts to respond to their pagers at a moment's notice. That's why RNLI are encouraging people to host their very own Fish Supper between October 5 - 21, in order to raise vital funds.
There are different ways you and your employees can be a part of this exciting campaign:
- Hold a company Fish Supper in the staff canteen, or book a local restaurant for a staff night out. Employees get the chance to come together and relax, knowing that the funds they raise go to a good cause.
- Promote your Fish Supper internally. Whichever option you choose to support, you can promote your event and spread the word to your staff using the communications toolkit we can provide. We have included a selection of images and RNLI statistics which you can use across your channels to shout about the event you are hosting.
- Host a Fish Supper at home – invite family and friends round for Fish and Fizz, Sole in a Roll
– have fun all the while knowing you are helping to save lives.
- Theme your meal with some of our Fish Supper branded materials. We have a selection of Fish Supper themed branding we can provide to help you promote your event and dress wherever you host your supper – from personalised posters and table talkers, to Fish Supper bunting.
