A partnership between Miles of Smiles and Sport Aberdeen helped deliver an inspiring conclusion to the Active Schools Fun Run Series at the recent Champion of Champions event in Aberdeen.
The event brought together hundreds of primary school pupils from across the city, celebrating physical activity, participation and community engagement in a positive and inclusive environment.
As part of the event, Sport Aberdeen mascots Don the Bull and Dee the Squirrel played a central role in encouraging and supporting participants throughout the day. Don wore a visible blood glucose monitor, while Dee wore a hearing aid, reflecting the importance of representation and inclusion within community sport.
The event demonstrated how accessible and inclusive environments can help ensure that all young people feel welcomed, valued and able to participate, regardless of their individual circumstances.
Now in Week 53 of the 82-week Miles of Smiles campaign, the collaboration with Sport Aberdeen continues to promote wellbeing, community connection and active lifestyles across the Northeast.
The Champion of Champions event highlighted the positive impact that partnerships between community organisations can have in encouraging participation, supporting wellbeing and creating opportunities for young people to engage in sport and physical activity.
Miles of Smiles and Sport Aberdeen share a commitment to building healthier, more connected communities, with initiatives that place people, inclusion and wellbeing at their core.
