SPE Offshore Europe 2027 (OE27) has announced its conference theme, ‘(Em)Powering Europe: Securing Our Energy Future’, ahead of Europe’s leading integrated offshore energy industry event returning to P&J Live, Aberdeen, from 7–9 September 2027.
A three-day programme of plenary sessions, panel discussions and fireside chats will explore the theme through three topic pillars: delivering responsibly, driving prosperity, and strengthening capability and innovation.
The call for paper proposals for the technical programme opens today, Tuesday 18 August, with the submission deadline set as 1 February 2027.
The programme committee seek proposals showcasing innovative solutions, lessons learned, case studies, and emerging technologies aligned with the core themes to select from and build over 30 technical and e-poster sessions. Work demonstrating operational excellence, unlocking value from existing assets, advances in decarbonization, accelerating digital transformation, or developing the workforce of the future are invited.
Features on the OE27 exhibition floor will include an Energy Theatre, an Offshore Wind Hub, North Sea Futures Zone incorporating CCUS (carbon capture, utilisation and storage), decommissioning, digital and hydrogen, and a Future Talent Hub.

Edna Michelle Bisso Bi Mba, head of reservoir services at Harbour Energy’s Technology and Service Centre and technical programme co-chair of OE27 and said: “OE’s technical programme is where engineers, geoscientists and energy professionals come together to share ideas, challenge thinking and learn from each other’s experience. We want to hear from people doing interesting work across the sector whether that is improving operational performance and safety, applying new technologies, unlocking value from the subsurface or supporting the delivery of lower-carbon energy. For the first time, the programme will also feature a dedicated stream on Talent Development and Diversity.”
