Cornerstone partners with fashion giant for annual Fizz Friday event

Scottish social care charity, Cornerstone, has teamed up with a leading fashion retailer to host a ladies’ fundraising event in the Spring.

The third annual Fizz Friday event will be held at the Trinity Hall in Aberdeen on Friday, March 10 and will feature a fashion show curated by the Personal Styling team at John Lewis.

Guests at the glamorous get-together will have the chance to enjoy a glass or two of fizz and gourmet treats while luxury gifts will tour the tables before live entertainment and a fashion show.

The proceeds from the event will go towards Cornerstone’s children’s services which help more than 500 children and young people with disabilities and other support needs across Scotland.

Lisa Duthie, director of fundraising and corporate relations at Cornerstone, said: “Our third annual Fizz Friday is shaping up to be a fantastic event and we are delighted that John Lewis agreed to partner with us to showcase some of the latest fashions.

“The money raised will be used to provide specialised equipment and activities that would otherwise be unavailable to many of the children and families we support across the North-east.”

The Aberdeen branch of department store giant, John Lewis, will be showcasing the looks of the season, with items modelled by local women as well as Cornerstone staff and supporters.

Ariana Feroz, personal stylist at John Lewis Aberdeen, said: “We are delighted to be providing the fashion for this year’s Fizz Friday event. We will be showcasing our new Spring/Summer 2017 collections including brands and products available exclusively at our store.

“The funds raised go towards such an important and worthwhile cause and will make a real difference to the lives of local young people with disabilities.”

Cornerstone provides care and support services for adults, young people and children across Scotland with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and other support needs.

Since 1980, Cornerstone has grown to support more than 2,200 people each year, delivering services within 18 local authority areas across Scotland. More information on Cornerstone can be found by visiting www.cornerstone.org.uk
