The Chief Executive of Aberdeen City Council has quit her role after more than a decade with the local authority to take over as the new principal of Dundee University.
Angela Scott, who The Press and Journal reports earns more than £200,000 per year at the council, has previously drawn criticism for her lack of attendance at Marischal College, being branded "absent, anonymous and never seen".
The P&J reports it previously emerged that Scott attended the council headquarters for just 53% of the working week over a six-month period, while the newspaper also understands she stayed away for 500 days during the pandemic while other members of staff attended the office.
However, Scott has also been praised for her record in the job, including for her role in securing the multi-million-pound Aberdeen city region deal.
The Press and Journal also reports on potential replacements for Scott in the top job, including Executive Director of Corporate Services Andy MacDonald, Executive Director of City Regeneration and Environment Gale Beattie, and Executive Director of Families and Communities Eleanor Sheppard.
