The Tall Ships may only just have disappeared over the horizon, but Aberdeen City Council is already in talks to bring the hugely popular event back to the Granite City.
Aberdeen city centre was abuzz all weekend as the Tall Ships attractions racked up 400,000 visits across stalls, food trucks, parades, live music and of course the ships themselves.
And Councillor Martin Greig, head of the Aberdeen Tall Ships organising committee and the council's culture spokesman, has now told The Press and Journal talks are already underway to secure the event's return.
He said organisers were "pleased with the high level of participation and the high quality of the festival that we presented".
But while a return could be likely sooner than the previous 28-year gap between events, it won't be for at least four years.
The Tall Ships schedule is already full for the next three years, and Cllr Greig cautioned the city would "need to wait a reasonable timescale" before bringing the event back.
