Scotland’s former National Chef of the Year is taking over the former Falls of Feugh eatery near Banchory in what is being billed Scotland's most anticipated new restaurant of 2026.
On track to open its doors on Wednesday July 15, this is the first independent restaurant from Scotland’s former National Chef of the Year and BBC Great British Menu 2026 banquet winner, Orry Shand.
The former Falls of Feugh restaurant, inspired by its dramatic riverside location, has now been renamed and will be known as Falls by Orry Shand.

Rooted in Royal Deeside, Falls by Orry Shand will celebrate local produce and the region’s distinctive character. A set multi course tasting menu of up to 12 to 15 servings will blend Scottish ingredients with Nordic inspiration and classic French cooking techniques.
The restaurant has a maximum seating capacity of 30 with two sittings available each evening from Wednesday to Saturday.
