The home of sport for Robert Gordon’s College, Countesswells Sports Field will welcome players, officials and supporters from across Great Britain and Ireland (GB&I) for a major Scottish Masters Hockey tournament this weekend. 

Hosted in partnership with Scottish Masters Hockey, the Men’s GB&I Masters Tournament will bring together elite Masters athletes competing in the over 40s and 50s age categories. Taking place from 8-10 May 2026, the event forms part of the international Masters hockey calendar and highlights the continued growth and competitiveness of the sport. 

Matches will be held at Countesswells Sports Field, Robert Gordon’s College’s premier outdoor sports facility, which offers high-quality pitches and an excellent setting for competitive hockey, helping to position the city as a destination for top-level sporting events.

Mr Craig McLeod, Director of Sport at Robert Gordon’s College, said: “We are proud to host the Scottish Masters Hockey Home Nations Tournament at Countesswells. It’s a fantastic opportunity to welcome players and visitors from across Great Britain and Ireland to Aberdeen and to showcase the quality of our facilities. Events like this not only celebrate the sport at a high level but also inspire our pupils and the wider community.”

GB&I 2026 Organising Committee member Alasdair Freeman added: “We are very pleased to be bringing the Men’s GB&I Masters Tournament to Aberdeen and to be working in partnership with Robert Gordon’s College to deliver the event. The standard of Masters hockey continues to grow year on year, and this tournament provides an excellent opportunity for players to compete at a high level while also enjoying the unique atmosphere and hospitality that Aberdeen has to offer.” 

The tournament represents an important moment for Robert Gordon’s College, reinforcing its reputation for hosting high-quality sporting events while supporting the development of hockey across the region.
