Plans are well advanced for the 2026 Craig Brown Cup match which will again take place at Balmoral Stadium, home of Cove Rangers FC, on Saturday June 6 a mere week before Scotland open their World Cup Finals campaign in the USA.

The charity benefitting financially from the event is the Russell Anderson Foundation (RAF), set up by the former Aberdeen captain and Scotland international in 2012, with the ethos of the Foundation, which operates in the more disadvantaged areas of the Granite City, being to empower children to make good decisions and give them a chance to reach their potential.

Already confirmed to be playing in addition to Russell are Joe Lewis, Mikey Devlin, Niall McGinn, Phil McGuire, Lee Miller, Derek Young, Tomas Cerny, Gavin Rae, Richie Byrne, and Darren Mackie, as well as ‘Still Game’s’ Sanjiv Kohli with more names set to be added throughout May.

Scottish singer-songwriter Iona Fyfe will also be performing a pre-match rendition of The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen and Flower of Scotland and there will be a bouncy castle on site for the youngsters.

Tickets are priced at £10 with youngsters 12 & under free of charge (max of three per adult ticket) while there are a limited number of Main Stand tickets available at £20 each, including a coffee and a pie and are available at https://www.skiddle.com/e/42142031

Kick-off is at 3 pm, with doors open at 1.30 pm.

*The Craig Brown Cup was first contested in 2018 and moved to Balmoral Stadium the following year while RAF has been the charity partner for the past two years.
