CRC Evans, the global leader in welding and coating services for the energy and infrastructure sectors, has appointed 13 apprentices to support its future talent development strategy.
Nine apprentices will be based across the company’s facilities in Invergordon and Burnley and will undergo a four-year training and development programme in partnership with Skills Development Scotland, North Highland College and Burnley College. Additionally, four apprentices are beginning their training and development journey within its facility in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Investing in the Modern Apprenticeship scheme will ensure that CRC Evans has the future skills and expertise to service its clients across conventional oil and gas markets, as well as new energy and critical infrastructure sectors.
Ali Mackenzie, CRC Evans, said: “From Invergordon and Burnley to four in Brazil, we are very excited to welcome this latest apprentice cohort into CRC Evans as we continue to invest in young people and deliver our future workforce.
“CRC Evans has been investing in apprentices at our UK and global sites since 2013 through the delivery of a world-class training and development programme in collaboration with our education partners. This has given us essential future skills whilst also giving our apprentices the opportunity and platform to develop a long and successful career in the energy sector.”
He added: “At CRC Evans, we are expanding our portfolio beyond conventional energy markets, into high-growth sectors such as nuclear, renewables and critical infrastructure.
“The development of our apprenticeship scheme is crucial in meeting this objective and will ensure that we have the talent, expertise and capabilities to continue to lead complex, large-scale developments across the globe.”
The company’s legacy as a proven leader in complex and challenging energy and infrastructure projects positions it as a trusted partner for new emerging markets, where leading technology deployment and executional excellence are essential.
CRC Evans is dedicated to producing world-class welders with in-depth technical expertise. Upon completion of the first year at college, the UK apprentices transition to a full-time framework of on-site learning, either based at Invergordon, which houses the Apprentice Training Academy or the Burnley facility.
Established in 2022, the Academy provides apprentices with an elite training experience in CRC Evans’ advanced welding technologies, led by a dedicated Welding Apprentice Trainer and skilled mentors.
The training and development strategy enables apprentices to integrate more thoroughly into the business, while also completing required college assessments through day-release and in-company assessment methods.
CRC Evans has built an exceptional legacy of performance, innovation, and adaptability in a constantly evolving energy and infrastructure market. With long-term customer relationships, an outstanding safety record, and world-leading repair rates, the company demonstrates an unwavering commitment to excellence.
