Hazlehead Park was filled with music and fun on Sunday as thousands of visitors and locals enjoyed the Aberdeen Highland Games.
Over 8,000 attendees attended the Highland Games and enjoyed traditional events including Highland Dancing and caber tossing, as well as a selection of fun activities such as an assault course, climbing wall, segways and The Critter Keeper.
This year’s Highland Games was officially opened by the Lord Provost of Aberdeen, Dr David Cameron, and The Marquess of Aberdeen and Temair, George Gordon, who was the Chieftain of the games.
The Lord Provost said: “I always look forward to seeing so many families and visitors enjoying all that Aberdeen Highland Games has to offer each year.
“This much-loved event is a valued part of our city’s summer programme, celebrating tradition, community spirit and a warm welcome for all.”
Crowds were also able to enjoy a range of fine food and drink from local producers, as well as explore over 70 quality trade and charity stalls.
Aberdeen’s summer events programme will continue with the Armed Forces Day Parade on 27 June, followed by the Festival of the Sea running from 11-26 July.
