Aberdonians are being given a taste of what the city centre could be with the launch of a stunning conversion project.

The Cottage - a striking B-listed detached house on Crown Terrace - has been beautifully restored by developers City Restoration Project, creating a secluded haven nestled in the heart of the city centre.

The creation of high-quality urban homes has been earmarked as being a substantial part of the regeneration of Union Street and surrounding areas.

City Restoration Project Ltd is led by Dean and Darren Gowans, and the brothers have been painstakingly working to turn the property into a two-bedroom home.

The Cottage is phase two of the 'Crown & Cottage' development.

Phase one, on neighbouring Crown Street, is already fully sold and occupied.

The developers are passionate about bringing unloved city centre properties back to life and have been shortlisted in the Family Business of the Year category at the Northern Star Business Awards.

The Cottage is being marketed for sale by Aberdein Considine and has an asking price of £320,000.

Alan Cumming, National Estate Agency Director at Aberdein Considine, said: "City Restoration Project has impeccably reinstated this historic B-Listed building with a bespoke modern feel.

"Not only is it stylishly presented and architecturally impressive inside and out, they have ensured this is an energy efficient home; the ceilings and walls have abundant thermal and acoustic insulation and brand new custom acoustic double glazing has been installed throughout.

"Internal viewing is imperative to appreciate the intelligent design, space and craftsmanship this stunning property has to offer."

Ryan Crighton, Policy and Marketing Director at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, said the development was "a taste of what Aberdeen city centre could be".

"We need to stop living in the past. Union Street and the surrounding areas will never be fully occupied by retailers again - it's time to look beyond and see what these streets can be in the future," he said.

"City living is on the up, and we are blessed with some visionary developers who are turning unloved spaces in Aberdeen into the most incredible homes."
