Dales Marine Services, a specialist in dry dock and ship repair, fabrication and conversion, is recruiting an Estimator to support its Scotland-wide team in taking new projects from tender through to final delivery as demand for services grows.
Based in Aberdeen, Greenock or Leith, with regular travel as required, the successful candidate will work directly with Dales Marine’s Head of Commercial to support the full lifecycle of projects across each of Dales Marine’s sites.
Dales Marine Services, which is backed by H2 Equity Partners, operates dock facilities in Aberdeen, Leith, Greenock and Troon.
The Estimator role involves reviewing tender specifications for dry dockings, fabrications and marine projects and engaging with original equipment manufacturer (OEMs), subcontractors and specialists, alongside conducting onsite surveys of vessels and locations.
Flexible working as part of a hybrid arrangement will be considered for this position.
Hands-on training and exposure to all aspects of the estimating function will be provided in this position, with further responsibilities including compiling cost estimates, creating work specifications and in coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure efficient delivery.
The Estimator will also support the wider team with project handovers, progress tracking and close-out activities.
Stuart Brodie, Head of Commercial at Dales Marine Services, said: “We are looking for an Estimator to join our team and support in taking projects all the way from Invitation to Tender to full delivery and close. This is a key role for our business, and the successful candidate will receive great opportunities to learn, grow and progress in their role.
“Dales Marine Services is a forward-thinking company with a strong growth strategy and this position, alongside others currently available across the business, demonstrate our commitment to investing in careers and in the future of the ship fabrication, repair and maintenance industry.”
A competitive salary is being offered for the role, alongside a strong benefits package that comprises a company pension scheme, death in service payment, a cycle to work programme and private medical cover that includes dental and eye care.
Applications for the Estimator position will close on Friday, 31 July 2026.
Dales Marine Services is also recruiting a Storeperson at its Greenock yard, along with experienced Dock Masters to join teams across each of its dry dock facilities.
The open roles follow the launch of Dales Marine's 2026 apprenticeship programme, which will see up to 12 apprentices join its yards across Scotland, working in steelwork and fabrication and mechanical engineering.
