Guests at a charity ball in Inverness will be dancing in the moonlight to raise money to support local babies, children and families.

This year’s annual Moonlight Ball has a diamond theme and promises a sparkling evening of entertainment, fun and an opportunity to give back.

The event, which takes place at Inverness’ Drumossie Hotel on Friday, November 7, will raise vital funds for children’s charity, The Archie Foundation, helping to deliver vital support and services at Raigmore Hospital and across the Highlands and Islands.

The event is organised by Archie patron and long-time supporter Mary Nimmo and her colleague Jacqueline Brown from Munro & Noble Solicitors and Estate Agents, along with fellow members of Archie’s Highland Fundraising committee.

The committee has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for Archie through the Moonlight Ball and Prosecco Picnic, held each summer.

This year’s event will include live music by The Tumbling Souls, a delicious three-course meal and games, a raffle and charity auction.

Neil McGregor, Archie’s business development and fundraising manager for the Highlands, said: “We are looking forward to another fantastic night at the Moonlight Ball and are so grateful to Mary and Jacqueline and their team for organising this staple of the Highlands social calendar.

“We still have a few tables of 10 remaining, and we understand that support for good causes is sought from many directions but booking a table at the Moonlight Ball supports families going through the most difficult moments of their lives, whether that’s during a visit to hospital or during a bereavement.

“All proceeds from the event will go directly to supporting Archie’s work across the Highlands and Islands. This funding enables us to provide essential emotional and financial support to babies, children, and their families during their most challenging times.”

Mary Nimmo, organiser of the Moonlight Ball said: “We are all set for a wonderful evening on November 7, and grateful for the generosity of those who have registered to attend, many who return year on year. We’d also like to extend a special thank you to everyone who has supported the auction and raffle, donating some fabulous prizes.”

Archie has helped children and families across the north of Scotland for 25 years, funding specialist roles and projects at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and, more recently, at Highland Children’s Unit, Tayside Children’s Hospital and Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin.
