Global digital consultancy Dax Group has announced that founder Colin Dawson has assumed the position of managing director to spearhead the company through its next phase of growth.

Originally launched in June 2024 as a passion project, the firm quickly secured a series of major contracts, to the value of £1.2million. This success prompted Colin to leave his position as Chief Technology Officer at Elemental Energies to fully commit to the business.

“With every digital project, success hinges on understanding both the technology and the people,” Colin said. “At Dax Group, we focus on solutions architecture, organisational maturity, user experience, and crucially, bringing people with us, not just launching tools and hoping for adoption.”

Colin brings over 15 years’ experience in digital transformation, built on a background in Computer Science and an MSc in Data Science. His career began at Independent Data Services, where he rose to Regional Manager. Since 2017, he has held digital leadership roles at Aker BP, Stena Drilling and Elemental Energies, consistently aligning technology with commercial goals to drive measurable improvements.

“Nearly 80% of digital projects fail,” he added. “Too often, it’s due to poor adoption, obsolete solutions, or runaway costs. That’s the challenge Dax Group was created to address.”

Responding to market demand, Colin quickly established the company’s solutions development capability and acquired local strategic marketing firm Breakwater to enhance its engagement offering.

“Technology alone doesn’t deliver transformation. People do,” he said. “Bringing Breakwater onboard enabled us to support clients in aligning vision, engaging teams, and embedding change.”

Dax Group takes a long-term view, guiding clients to align strategy with capability before building tailored, future-ready solutions.

“Many organisations rush into digital quick fixes,” Colin explained. “We help them step back, assess the bigger picture, and build with purpose. Transformation happens when leadership, collaboration and technology are in sync.”

A key part of Dax Group’s offer is its proprietary platform, radax, a rapid application development framework designed to accelerate scalable software delivery. Unlike conventional low-code platforms, radax is built for flexibility, AI integration and enterprise-grade performance, enabling clients to adapt as they grow.

“Radax allows us to deliver software that evolves with our clients’ needs,” Colin said. “We’re not just building systems; we’re building digital foundations that last.”

As businesses grapple with emerging technology and AI, Dax Group also offers a broad range of capabilities from software development to data analytics, maturity assessments, AI-readiness audits, training, and strategic planning to help clients navigate digital change confidently.

“Our offering is quite unique,” Colin said. “We’ve combined rapid innovative software engineering with a people-first strategy to deliver meaningful, lasting transformation.”

Dax Group is currently delivering solutions to a wide range of clients across multiple sectors, whilst also working on strategic build projects. Colin’s appointment marks a significant step in the company’s ambitious growth plans.
