Deepsea Technologies UK has welcomed Mike Ross as Project Engineer (Controls), based in Aberdeen, further strengthening the company’s technical capability and delivery expertise across subsea and offshore projects.
Mike joins the business with over 30 years of experience in subsea and offshore engineering. His career combines hands-on expertise in ROV and tooling intervention with broader responsibilities across aftermarket management and business development.
Throughout his career, Mike has held senior technical, aftermarket and commercial roles, including with Fugro, as well as earlier offshore positions with Subsea 7 and impROV. His experience spans a wide range of complex subsea construction and intervention campaigns delivered globally.
Mike also brings with him an established relationship with Deepsea Technologies, having previously worked alongside the business — including during its earlier iterations — as a client on several international projects. These have included FPSO riser connector and LNG FGSO operations, where he developed a strong appreciation for the team’s technical capability and collaborative approach.
His project experience includes major developments such as BP Block 31 in Angola, LNG FGSO riser connector operations in the United States, and significant West of Shetland campaigns. Across these projects, Mike has contributed to first-of-type deployments and critical subsea connection operations.
In his new role, Mike will support the delivery of advanced subsea and offshore projects, bringing a combination of technical insight, operational experience and project delivery expertise to the Deepsea Technologies team.
Commenting on his appointment, Mike said he was keen to join the business following his positive experiences as a client and looks forward to playing a key role in supporting the company’s continued growth in Aberdeen and expansion within the offshore aftermarket sector.
