Festivals, family shows, music, comedy, theatre and spoken word are all packed in to a fresh new season at the Lemon Tree.
Exciting new live performances, one-off, specially curated events and beloved favourites all feature in the latest line up, unveiled by Aberdeen Performing Arts today.
Audiences will be invited to explore how culture moves, morphs and survives in February as celebrated fiddler and composer Aidan O'Rourke takes the reins for a weekend of music and film and conversation with Delve: Tide and the Eem, featuring a headline performance from acclaimed singer-songwriter Beth Orton.
The legendary venue's festive line up will include brand new children's festive production Snowy, which will transform the Lemon Tree into a magical snow globe this December, and jazz singer Georgia Cecile will be celebrating in style with her Christmas concert.
Aberdeen Comedy Festival is back featuring the full range of the best in live comedy, from leading names to rising stars, household favourites to local heroes, stand-up to improv up until Sunday, October 4, while Aberdeen Queer Arts Festival will celebrate LGBTQ+ talent from Thursday, November 5 to Sunday, November 8.
Aberdeen Performing Arts CEO/ Creative Director Sharon Burgess said: "The Lemon Tree is a home for new and innovative artistry, a rich breeding ground for creativity and most of all, a warm and welcoming community hub for all.
"This new season at our beloved venue offers a wide range of entertainment where everyone can feel at home. We are currently in the midst of the Comedy Festival with lots going on right up until October 4, and we're so excited for the return of the Aberdeen Queer Arts Festival to brighten up November."
Leading the brochure announcement is the latest instalment of Delve, the folk and trad festival featuring music, spoken word, workshops and film. Now in its fifth year, the event offers an artist the opportunity to curate their own line-up and programme with the 2027 theme reflecting on the land and sea.
Sharon added: "Delve 2027 will be an incredible weekend where, in the capable hands of the wonderful Aidan O'Rourke we will be treated to music, workshops and talks celebrating Scotland's cultures and connections to the wider world.
