The Denis Law Legacy Trust is proud to announce it has received a generous £2,000 donation from the ABZ Fund at Aberdeen International Airport.

This funding will support the Trust’s ongoing mission to empower young people across Aberdeen through free-to-access sport and creative activities.

The ABZ Propeller Fund by Aberdeen International Airport has helped many organisation by providing grants. Relaunched in 2022, the fund is open to groups, charities and organisations with links to education, sustainability and economic regeneration. This forms part of Aberdeen Airport’s community engagement initiative, which aims to support local organisations making a tangible difference in the region. The donation will be directed toward the Trust’s flagship Streetsport programme, which delivers weekly sessions in communities such as Torry, offering safe, inclusive environments for young people to engage in physical activity and build confidence.

Mark Williams, Chief Operating Officer of the Denis Law Legacy Trust, commented: “We’re incredibly grateful to Aberdeen Airport and the ABZ Fund for this support. The funding will directly impact hundreds of young people around Aberdeen in a hugely positive manner, particularly in Torry where some of our busiest Streetsport sessions are. It’s partnerships like these that help us continue Denis Law’s legacy of inspiring and uplifting the next generation.”

Bruce Watson, chairman of the ABZ Propeller Fund at Aberdeen International Airport, said: “The ABZ Propeller Fund like most funds is highly competitive with fantastic submissions throughout the year.  Since returning in 2022 we have helped dozens of organisations get financial support to get their projects off the ground. Our committee discussed Denis Law legacy Trust and its submission and we are delighted to be able to provide support for their project."

The Denis Law Legacy Trust, named in honour of Scotland’s greatest footballer, continues to champion community engagement and youth development through sport, creativity, and mentorship.
