DF Communications, the go-to business communications provider in Aberdeen for almost 40 years, is proud to announce the unveiling of the DF Big Phone, a local piece of history that was gifted to DF Communications over 25 years ago by Motorola, and now has a new lease of life.
Originally displayed on the outside of the former DF Communications building at the South College Street railway arches, the Big Phone caught the attention of passing motorists with its time and temperature display.
After more than a quarter of a century, DF Communications has relocated to the Neospace building, which prompted the restoration of the Big Phone to its former glory.
As well as its nostalgic appeal, the DF Big Phone now boasts modern features including a Wi-Fi hotspot and mobile phone charging station.

With this transformation, DF Communications aims to take the Big Phone on a mobile tour to various venues, raising money for selected charities through donations, with The DF Big Phone will offer free phone charging and 5G Wi-Fi to visitors in return.
DF Communications has been an integral part of Aberdeen's business community since its establishment by founder Dick Fleming nearly 40 years ago. Now under the leadership of Dick's daughter and current managing director, Fiona Fraser, the company continues to provide exceptional communication solutions to local businesses.
Fiona shared her excitement about the refurbished Big Phone, saying, "My dad would be made up right now to see the phone restored and given a new purpose."
