It’s not just what happens in the classroom, but the many opportunities RGC pupils have to broaden their horizons, discover new interests and talents, and make a positive difference to the world around them.

Co-curricular and Head of S1 & S2, says: “It has been an exciting start to
the 2026-27 academic year, with the launch of the new co-curricular programme.
With the majority of activities included within tuition fees, pupils have an
exceptional breadth of opportunities to try something new, develop their
interests and make the most of life at RGC. There are already over 150 clubs
across the College, and a second round of activities will be added to our
online booking system in the coming weeks, giving pupils even more
opportunities to get involved.
“Co-curricular activities are such an
important part of school life at RGC because they give pupils the chance to
discover what they enjoy, challenge themselves in new ways and develop skills
that stay with them long after they leave the classroom. Whether they are
trying something completely new, working as part of a team or taking on a
leadership role, these experiences help pupils build confidence, resilience and
a real sense of belonging.
“Giving
back and thinking about our wider community is a big part of life at RGC.
Through the RGC Charities Committee, pupils from across the College come
together to support causes that are important to them. Last session, pupils and
families from Nursery to S6 raised a school-record £32,000 for our 2025-26
charity partner, Kayleigh’s Wee Stars.
“Through
these opportunities to support others, pupils develop much more than
fundraising skills. They build leadership, empathy and initiative, while
developing a strong understanding of the importance of community.”
There is something for everyone in RGC’s extensive co-curricular programme. Pupils might take to the water with paddlesports, perform with the Pipe Band or take part in Highland Dancing, develop their skills through ski racing or compete in football and mixed netball.
They can take on challenges with Young Engineers, launch pupil-built rockets and explore CanSat simulations through Cosmos Club, propose an amendment at MUN Club, improve their backhand at Pickleball Club, increase their average at Darts Club, learn about theatre production, or showcase their creativity through Creative Arts.
These experiences create memorable moments of school life, enabling innovative and curious pupils to develop their leadership skills, build resilience and consistently give back to their community. Alongside the wider RGC co-curriculum, they equip pupils with the confidence, skills and experience to think critically and embrace the future.
