DNV, the independent assurance and risk management provider, has expanded its presence in the global rail sector, securing significant new projects across four continents in the first half of 2026.
The activity reflects growing international demand for independent rail safety assurance and technical expertise, as railways worldwide contend with increasingly connected and automated systems.
New projects spanning the Middle East, Europe, South America and across Asia mark a strong period of growth and commercial performance for the rail team, which also completed its first six months within DNV's new Industrial Services business unit in the period.
DNV’s rail specialists support customers around the world to safely manage critical assets and address transformations in the railway industry across a range of different disciplines.
Launched in early 2026, Industrial Services was created to meet the growing demand from customers navigating increasingly complex energy transition projects, expanding infrastructure investment and more stringent quality and compliance requirements worldwide.

These latest project wins build on DNV’s expanding global rail portfolio and underscore the company's commitment to helping rail operators enhance safety, security and operational performance.
Recent successes include DNV’s appointment to deliver specialised cybersecurity services for the Santiago de los Caballeros monorail system in the Dominican Republic, support for Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail under its Professional Services Framework Agreement to strengthen safety, compliance and quality across Ireland’s rail network, and an ongoing project with Seoul Metro in South Korea to implement a Smart Operational Control Centre that will advance digitalisation and operational efficiency.
Further projects include independent safety assessments in rail initiatives across India, cybersecurity and safety advisory services for rail operators and development projects in Europe and South America, HSE oversight in the Middle East and guidance for hydrogen mobility initiatives in Egypt.
