Ahead of the hotly anticipated new Aberdeen FC away kit launch on Wednesday, AGCC was among the Dons partners invited to sample the new Katoni Lounge and get an exclusive sneak preview of the new strip.
Mingling in the new Main Stand lounge, the sleek, classy decor immediately stood out, with subtle AFC branding. comfortable seating and a large TV screen.
It was a tad early in the day for the Fierce Beer-Dons collaboration lager on draught, but teas and coffees were flowing and a mouth-watering buffet was also available.
The new strip itself, the debut design of the new partnership between Aberdeen FC and Italian sportswear brand Macron, was a huge hit.
Going back to the classic white with red trim, the kit is made unique by incorporating a subtle striped pattern inspired by the iconic design of the University of Aberdeen's Sir Duncan Rice Library.
Macron is headquartered in Bologna, home to the oldest university in the western world. Aberdeen, meanwhile, is one of Scotland's great university cities, with an academic heritage that runs to the heart of the club itself.
That connection continues today through the University of Aberdeen’s partnership with Aberdeen FC, further strengthening the bond between the club, the city and its academic community.
Recent classics like the Northern Lights and North Sea away kits were a tough act to follow, but it looks like Macron is off to a flyer.
The newly refurbished club shop, which has been expanded into the space previously occupied by the ticket office, was packed with smart new ranges from training gear and casualwear to homeware, toys and footballs.
The new kit will make its debut this weekend in Aberdeen's first preseason game against Cove Rangers.
