People living or working near Ashgrove Road and Ashgrove Road West are being asked to take part in a fifth in-person and online consultation which could lead to street improvements for the area.
The next stage of Ashgrove Connects project, being delivered by Aberdeen City Council comprises a drop in session at Get Active @ Westburn and online, to give information where the design is at this final consultation including how input from the public has helped to shape it.
The Ashgrove Connects project is investigating what improvements could and should be made to the streets and is aimed at enabling people to choose a more active and sustainable lifestyle, in order to make the most of opportunities to complement proposed infrastructure changes along the Berryden Corridor.
Plans could include changes to Ashgrove Road, Ashgrove Road West, and Laurelwood Avenue which give greater priority to people, enhance public space, improve access to shops and facilities, and improve active travel. The project has been working with local people and stakeholders to build an understanding of how the streets and public spaces are perceived and used locally.

Aberdeen City Council Co-Leader Councillor Ian Yuill said: “The designs in the earlier stages have been developed based on local feedback. I urge people to view the developed proposals, particularly if they live or work in the local area.
“The local community has been very engaged on the project so far and these events will give an update on the design.”
The information gathered so far has guided the development of initial design ideas which could see a reduction in the speed of traffic, improved crossings, better access to greenspace, a more enjoyable environment to walk through, and improved conditions for people cycling along the road.
Ashgrove Connects would enhancing journey time reliability, relieve congestion, and improve infrastructure for walking and cycling. It is for Ashgrove Road and Ashgrove Road West, from Powis Terrace and Laurelwood Avenue to North Anderson Drive.
The next stage of the project would be the procurement and a phased construction, subject to funding requirements being met.
The drop-in session including consultation materials is being held at Get Active @ Westburn by Westburn Park on Westburn Road, AB25 3DE on Wednesday 18th February 2025, from 3.30pm to 6pm. People can also take part online where they can also view more information about the project.
