Dräger, a global leader in the field of safety technology headquartered in Blyth in North East England, has appointed Andy Jones as its first-ever Rental and Safety Services (RSS) business specialist for the UK and Ireland.

Andy brings a wealth of experience in sales, compliance and safety-focused solutions to the newly created role, which is designed to lead the growth of the company’s RSS offering across the region. He joins Dräger after six years with Rentokil Initial, where he managed healthcare waste and compliance across Scotland and the North-east of England. Having begun his career in a family-run automotive rental business, Andy has held roles in PPE and health and safety sales, equipping him with valuable insight into customer needs across high-risk and regulated environments.

This appointment reflects Dräger’s strategic investment in its RSS division, which provides customers with flexible rental access to its world-class safety equipment. The service offers full calibration, servicing and end-of-life support, helping businesses to reduce capital expenditure while maintaining high safety and compliance standards.

Andy said: “To be the first person in this role is a real privilege. There’s already strong momentum within the division in places like Aberdeen and Krefeld (Germany), and I’m looking forward to building on that, helping to develop a consistent, scalable service that gives customers more choice and even greater value. With the backing of a trusted global brand like Dräger, the potential is huge.”

Based in South Shields, Andy’s remit spans the UK and Ireland. He will work closely with Dräger’s international RSS team headquartered in Krefeld, Germany. His immediate focus is to engage with colleagues and customers, learning from current successes and shaping a go-to-market strategy tailored to the needs of the UK and Irish markets.

A key part of Dräger’s RSS portfolio is INARA, a next-generation mobile monitoring system currently available exclusively through rental. INARA at its core is a digital safety guard, allowing multiple confined space entries to take place simultaneously, whilst all being safely monitored by an operator at the mobile control centre. With innovation and agility at its heart, it is core to the division’s growth strategy, complementing Dräger’s trusted gas detection and respiratory protection products.
