Duncan Farms has announced a major new retail partnership with Tesco, with its free range Duncan's Eggs launching in 65 Tesco stores across Scotland.

The new listing reflects the continued growth of the Aberdeenshire family business, driven by increasing demand for its premium Scottish free range eggs, making them available to even more shoppers nationwide.

The Tesco launch follows a £4.5million investment by Duncan Farms over the past six months to strengthen its field-to-fork model. This latest investment includes a new rearing site outside Turriff and a new feed store facility near Banff, both located in close proximity to the company's packing centre and farming operations. These developments further strengthen Duncan Farms' integrated production model, ensuring quality, traceability and animal welfare remain at the heart of the business as production expands.

The launch comes as egg consumption continues to rise across the UK, with the average person now eating around 209 eggs per year, up from 169 in 2004. The increase has been driven in part by growing consumer demand for nutrient-dense, high-protein foods and a shift towards simple, minimally processed ingredients.

Rachael Duncan, owner of Duncan Farms, said: "Launching Duncan's Eggs in Tesco stores across Scotland is a significant milestone for our business and an important step in making our Scottish free range eggs more accessible to consumers.

This achievement reflects our continued investment in Duncan Farms. In recent years, we’ve strategically invested across every stage of our field-to-fork process, from our rearing and laying farms to our feed production and packing facilities. These investments ensure we can continue to deliver the quality, traceability and the high welfare standards our customers expect.

As more people choose nutritious, locally produced food, we're proud to be working with Tesco to bring more Scottish shoppers our truly traceable, nutritious free range eggs.”

Jill Sutherland, Buying Manager for Tesco Local Sourcing, said: “We are delighted to be working with Duncan Farms and to offer our customers more choice within our locally sourced ranges”.

Alongside its continued business growth, Duncan Farms is also proud to support Team Scotland as an Official Supporter of Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. The partnership reflects the shared values of performance, nutrition, sustainability and supporting Scottish success, with eggs continuing to play an important role as a natural source of high-quality protein for active lifestyles.

The Tesco launch further strengthens Duncan’s Eggs’ growing presence within Scottish retail, building on a year of continued retail expansion across a number of major supermarket partners. As the business continues to invest in its operations, it remains committed to championing Scottish agriculture and delivering high-quality free range eggs from field-to-fork.
