East West Flooring, a specialist concrete and liquid screeding solutions contractor, has successfully completed a screed installation at the Midmar Men’s Shed development in Aberdeenshire, marking a major step forward in the community project.
The project represents an important stage in the construction of a new purpose-built facility for Midmar Men’s Shed, which will include a workshop, kitchen, shower and underfloor heating system.
East West Flooring carried out the installation using Cemfloor, delivering a high-quality, level finish across the entire building. The company ensured the screed was carefully checked and levelled throughout, ensuring a durable and efficient flooring system.
The fast-drying properties of the product enabled access for foot traffic within just two days, allowing the project to continue progressing without delay. Its compatibility with underfloor heating systems also ensures improved heat transfer and long-term energy efficiency within the building.
Since 2018, Midmar Men’s Shed has been working to secure planning permission and funding for the development, with support from the National Lottery and Aberdeenshire Council. Alongside this, members continue to contribute to the local community through projects such as bridge repairs, school improvements and the construction of picnic benches.
